Clinical utility

Useful for identification of antigens present in paraffin-embedded tissues. Properly selected IHC panels may aid in the identification and subclassification of various tumors. Additional markers may be useful in assessing proliferation (e.g. Ki67) or prognosis (e.g. bcl-2 or HER-2/neu) in selected tumor types.

Collection Instruction

Submit formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tumor tissue blocks,
ambient or refrigerated. Shipping on cold pack is recommended during
warm weather months. Ship by overnight courier to Specialty.
Alternate specimen: Submit minimum of 4 UNSTAINED, positively charged
slides for 1 IHC stain and 1 extra slide for each additional
stain ordered.
