Clinical utility

This panel is used to aid in the diagnosis of autoimmune disorders such as Mixed Connective Tissue Diseases, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Sjogren's Syndrome, CREST syndrome (calcinosis, Raynaud's syndrome, esophageal dysfunction, sclerodactyly and telangiectasia), Idiopathic Raynaud's Syndrome, drug induced lupus, diffuse scleroderma, etc., also including autoimmune thyroiditis and rheumatoid arthritis. Individual components are also available. Specialty offers Analyzer #1000 as a more comprehensive evaluation since it can identify atypical autoimmune disorders as well. Specialty offers ANA with Reflex to Analyzer #1118 that includes the same components as panel #1000, where no specific antibody assays are performed on specimens with negative ANA screen.
