Cyclic Citrullinated Peptide (CCP) IgG Antibody is found in approximately 70% of patients with RA, while only 2% of random blood donors and disease control subjects are positive. A recent study found citrullinated proteins in the joints of patients with RA, but not in patients with other forms of joint disease. CCP IgG has a 98% specificity for RA, compared to 84% by RF. Specificity for RA approaches 100% when CCP antibodies and RF antibodies are both elevated. |
