Clinical utility
A number of circumstances provoke growth hormone release. Insulin injection or arginine infusion are the standard pharmacological stimuli for growth hormone release. Protocols for these are well established and standardized. IGF-I (Insulin-like Growth Factor) levels are low in patients with growth hormone deficiency and growth failure. In general, a growth hormone response greater than 7 to 10 ng/mL after stimulation is considered to be normal.

Collection Instruction
Avoid Freeze/Thaw Cycles.
