Low IGF-1 is most helpful in discrimination between normal and GH-deficiency when the deficiency is severe or the bone age is greater than 12 years. In Laron dwarfism, GH is normal, but a mutation in the receptor causes low concentrations of IGF-1. IGF-1 concentrations are elevated in acromegaly. |
Avoid Freeze/Thaw Cycles.
