Clinical utility
This rapid direct test is more accurate than smear testing and provides >90% concordance with culture-positive samples. Patients who are suspected of having pulmonary TB based on clinical evaluation and who have received no antituberculous therapy, less than 7 days of such therapy, or have not received such therapy in the last 12 months may be evaluated with this test.


Collection Instruction
Sputum (induced or expectorated), bronchial specimens, and
tracheal aspirates collected in a sterile plastic container.
Ship on cold pack. Grossly bloody specimens are not
acceptable for analysis.
